Easiest Homemade Tahini


There's nothing I love more than an easy recipe and it just can't get easier than this. With just 2-3 ingredients you can make tahini at home and say goodbye to the store-bought stuff. You can whip it up in no time and use it as a base for dips, sauces, or dressings!






INGREDIENTS:

  • 150 g sesame seeds, hulled

  • 2-4 tbsp. flavourless oil (light olive oil, avocado oil, or canola oil)

  • Pinch of salt (optional)


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Toast the sesame seeds in a pan on low heat until slightly browned. Once you start smelling the sesame seeds, remove from heat and spread out on a baking sheet to cool for about 15 minutes.

  2. Once the sesame seeds are cooled, pour into a food processor and blend until a sand-like paste is formed. Alternatively, you can use a hand blender.

  3. Slowly add i the oil 1 tbsp. at a time and blend until you reach a thin, smooth consistency. It took about 3 tbsp. for me.

  4. Add salt if you want a little extra flavour and keep refrigerated!
